YOUR PATH IS MORE DIFFICULT BECAUSE YOUR CALLING IS HIGHER
I have always believed and have religiously attempted to listen to unvoiced emotions when I talk to people. Not because there must be a hidden part of every being, but because the real individual is made of realizations. The way we envision people, their tone, their way of speaking, depth in their words and meaning in their eyes are always insightful. Struggles, intent, and kindness have always overruled spoken words for me. If I must give very elemental example, when we come to know that an individual is chaired at a particular position in a reputed organization, the first thing that comes to our mind (for mass, not class) is how good he/she must be earning. The thought is not wrong as they really are, but the shift from showing respect for being positioned at a responsible seat to earning is never valid. If this shift occurs in our mind, we still have a lot of room to work on ourselves. The coverage of distance from the chair (for an audience) to the podium is never easy for anyone in this world.
I took this story from one of the WhatsApp forwards. A young man was waiting at a bus stand to start his office journey. Alike each one of us, he was thinking of his ongoing personal and professional stuff, planning and issues. The greatest fight we must deal with, is between our heart and mind. Mindful decisions may always win, but heartfelt decisions will always rule our soul. During these peaks and valleys of thoughts, a beautiful small girl arrived adjacent to this man. She was selling stationary items for her living. She requested the man to buy few items to help her get money to eat something. This young man was melted by her ask and offered her some money and said, “I do not need these items, but you keep the money”. The girl was happy and took a part of offered money and reminder was given back with a smile saying, “This much is enough. I do not need more”. The man was shaken up with this response.
Honestly, the first thought that flashed my mind after reading this was "How small I am !". The girl was battling things her smile never spoke about. Our money, our position, our nameplate looks too small in front of these gestures. Our true valuation is how we perceive sentiments. Feeling inferior at such moments is a sign of courage and measurement of our evolution. All the chapters of the book “life lessons” are subset of self-realization. When we meet a person like this little girl, we will sense at least one character which is distinct, which fabricates their aura. Having a relation which keeps us grounded, spiritually enlightening is the ultimate source of warmth.
When Kindness is worn, ordinary becomes ornamental 😊
