A Question to God
Self, Social, Family, Society, Misc
IF YOU CAN DO JUST ONE THING RIGHT, YOU ARE NEEDED BY SOMEONE
When I started listening to mythological stories in childhood from my mother, I used to have pile of questions, of course all being logical. Initially, she would attempt explaining me the answers, but I could never understand at that time. She used to end her explanation asking me not to find logic when there is a magic. As I grew up, I understood the answers, but as I evolved, I even understood why we should not search logic when there is a magic. This is so true. There will be atleast one instance in EVERYONE’S life when they are bound to accept this fact. Most of the time, the acceptance is for good, so it is easily digestible. At times, there is no logic and no magic even.
I read a short story before few days. A beautiful, young entrepreneur Riya was to board a flight to attend her conference. She was doing really good and had unmatched fame for her achievement. Whenever I read this ACHIEVEMENT word, I find it very perspective oriented. The definition of this word to most is MONEY and FAME, for few it is FAMILY, for less than few, it is a blend of both. None of these achievements are insignificant. Then if you want to, what should be considered as achievement for all? As per me, it is when we are respected by our parents as an individual more than the love, they have for us. How we mould our character during storm, how we become after struggle, how we use our strengths, how we accept and try to fill our weakness says lot more than a lot can say. When we crack, we get to see what we are full of. Our approach towards the journey of scarceness to abundance and vice-versa, shows our true self.
Coming to the tale, when Riya stepped into the flight and was looking for her seat, she found that she is supposed to place herself near a man who had no hands, a differently abled person. She immediately called for an attendant and requested to change her seat. The attendant replied, ”Madam, I am very sorry, but the flight is full. Seems no chance of changing your seat. Could you help me with your reason to re-locate?”, to which Riya replied, “I cannot sit adjacent to this handicapped man”. The attendant was stunned, but it was her job to treat her passengers politely. She informed Riya that she will check with the other crew members and look for alternate. Post half an hour, the attendant came to Riya and consoled her that she would not have to sit besides this man. All the other passengers were witnessing this case. The attendant walked towards that man and plead him to standup. She wanted everyone in the flight to listen to her next few words. She announced, “For the first time in our history, we are promoting a passenger from economic class to business class. Sir, we welcome you to the Business Class coach. We do not want you to sit alongside this lady“.
Every passenger jumped from their seat and started celebrating this signal. The man was filled with joy and acknowledged the attendant with his few words, “My sincere thanks to you, the crew members, and my co-passengers for this gesture. I just want to introduce myself to Miss Riya not to prove what she has done, but to make her realize what should not be done. I am a Military Man, and I lost my hands in the recent Kashmir attack when terrorists tried invading our land. I am proud to say that all the soldiers are risking their day and night for our country and you awesome people. Jai Hind”. As a matter of fact, a darkest day for Riya.
On a personal note, when I see people thinking like Riya, with negative mindset, completely selfish thought process, arrogance of money, entirely biased approach, I always wonder who is running this world because I am sure these kinds of people are absolutely not. The moment I think this, I learn the flip side of the coin, where some people breathe out abundance of kindness, positivity, selfless work, spirituality, hope, care and love. I understand that God knows how to balance. Opposite to this thought, I have never understood why God made few people differently abled. To live with and under the support of somebody for day-to-day activity is the biggest pain. More than this support, the half-filled emotions of their near and dear ones never get to the shore. Pressing someone with bad phases in life, making them struggle for something is all okay. What is not convincing is the life of differently abled people. I wish one day; I can unfold myself to the level I start understanding this creation of the divine.
Till then, this remains unfair for me.
