Intuition - My Pebble

Self, Education

Maybe we are searching among the branches for what only lies in the roots

It has been a while since I wrote something. I missed and craved for this "Blog writing time", but not regretted much honestly. My family grew double in size and so has my happiness. I have always believed that we learn by experiences and not by aging. Few emotions can only be felt once we get into that situation. To my fortune, I wear the same smile and have the same sparkle in my eyes after this transition. This says enough about my journey into this life so far.

I want to write something today which you must have heard/read at some point in your life. The story is not new, but the perspective is. There was a poor man in a village who used to earn and spend on a daily basis. Being single, he managed to save some money for his tough time. He was fatigued and unhappy with his monotonous life. One fine day, he and his house were blessed with the arrival of a Saint. He welcomed him and expressed his daydream to flee from this boring life. The saint fulfilled his wish and educated him about touchstone. A touchstone is something that can turn any metal into gold. He also indicated that location in the sea where the touchstone is present. The poor man could not resist himself and started dancing in joy. He immediately asked this saint, “How will I recognize touchstone among so many other stones in sea?”. The saint replied, “A touchstone would feel warm when touched, every other stone would feel cold”. What else then! The poor man sold his belongings to earn some cash and went on a journey straight to the sea.

Days, months, and years passed. It was more than four years now since this man started his search. He would pick up every stone he saw, feel it, and will dismiss out of hand. He was trapped in this habit and could not even actually make an attempt to feel the stone temperature before throwing it. It was that lucky day when he picked up the touchstone he needed. Unfortunately, his habit made him throw this stone as well, without feeling the real warmth of it.

This poor man lies in each one of us. We cultivate a habit of presuming things and then end up discarding things we were genuinely looking for. Our thoughts, our mindset is influenced by external forces that we don’t allow our heart and mind to take control. We are so crushed by overflowing thoughts that even something good or someone real feels like a setup.

More than this self-explanatory meaning that this tale carries, another angle this story teaches is intuition. We believe in instinct, we believe in opinions, we believe in someone’s measuring scale but don’t trust our own intuition. I am not advocating intuition to be right or fruitful all the time , but I claim it to be progressive at all times. Our Intuition may not guide us for something we WANT, but it will definitely help to chase something we WISH. And as we know, WISH is always greater than WANT emotionally and mathematically !

I have only seen a handful of people in life who are intuitive. No matter what they have heard about another person, they create their own perspective for an individual after interacting with them. Of course, a massive factor in building this perspective about others is our own values and vibes, but then only these factors are what we are. I call these people as “People’s people”😊

We do not run by logic; we rule by Conviction.
