THE BEST THING ABOUT TIME IS, IT CHANGES
We badly wanted it; we desperately needed it. If I am asked to leave this world with say fifty best memories of my life, 29th June 2024 Cricket world Cup winning moment would surely be a part of it. Along with other genes, I have inherited love and craziness for cricket from my bloodline. Its altogether a different joy to feel satisfied than to feel successful. Cricket has always been one of the most satisfying pieces of my life. I realized that again last Saturday!!
Reading the posts and articles, walking through the reels, listening to presentations and interviews, watching our players and entire team celebrate had been a scenic experience. Entire nation and Indians across the globe were crying happy tears throughout that day. I am sure, like me, NOBODY would have come out of world cup winning moment hangover. Imagine our God blessing all 1.4 billion people at the same moment. Yes, it was that very emotion 😊
I am late to put my heart out so I know everything has been already written and there must be no emotion left to express. Still, I want to share my joy with you all because I want to feel this moment again and again and again. Words will never do justice to what all players have individually contributed and especially collectively as a team. 30 balls, 30 runs and India literally snatched victory from SA’s mouth. The cricket world has not seen a stronger comeback before and probably will never witness. A stellar performance epitomizing self-belief and teamwork.
Not being biased, I have always believed that 2007 and 2011 World Cup victory had an element of Dhoni in it. We may call that as his instincts, his plan-B execution, his unconventional style of captaining his players or something else. Personally, I vouch for considering this 2024 world cup victory as stronger and bigger than any other ICC victories. The ONLY rational is of course, the team effort and the instilled belief that they are bringing the best to the table.
The bowlers were the event of this championship. They were truly a sight to watch. They literally dominated the matches and personified the saying that batters win matches, but bowlers win championships.
I purposely didn’t sit at all during both the innings. I was standing at a corner chanting God’s name all through 40 overs. I have inherited such superstitious acts too, from my bloodline and I believe in it when it comes to cricket. I was standing all through not because I wanted to beg victory but because I wanted to send my vibrations on the ground with our players. Sounds funny, illogical and completely ridiculous, correct? Agree, but I do BELIEVE in it. I DO, I DO, and I very well DO. Vibrations work and they work perfectly.
Wrapping up my emotions and words now, the first and the most intense thought I felt on final ball was, because we deserved the world cup even then (19th Nov, 2023), we won it now. The consistency of performance and exemplary leadership compelled God to put the world cup in our lap this time, which he did not in 2023. Who knows, the loss of Nov 2023 made us more worthy of this victory. God has answers and time is his response. He replied it with all his love, this time!!
